The Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, popular Ponzi scheme known as MMM, payment suspension for one month was top on Google search this week, an official said on Thursday.
The Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Anglophone West Africa, Mr. Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, made the disclosure in a statement in Lagos.
He said that the search was as from December 7 to 14.
According to him, it is described as a period of shocking realities and rumours, as some of the stories that trended this week include the popular Ponzi scheme MMM, the collapse of a church in Uyo.
He said that the rumour of an air crash and the election of a new president in Ghana, among several others, also got people’s attention online.
He said, “An air of panic started on the Internet, following the news that popular Ponzi known as MMM is suspending further payment to its existing members for one month.
“The anxiety which has followed the decision has been met with varied reflections by people, who see the suspension as an impending collapse.”
Countdown to the Grammys Award and following several months of speculations, the 59th Grammy Awards which would be broadcasted live on Feb. 12, 2017, was filled with as much surprises as expected, Kola-Ogunlade said.
He said that leading the award list was Beyonce, with a total of nine nominations including albums of the year, while Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West got recognised for eight nominations for different songs.

Over the next year, we’re going to start to see devices with Bluetooth connections that are faster and work over much longer ranges than what can currently be achieved.
That’ll all happen thanks to the changes in Bluetooth 5, a new standard that’s launching today. Companies are now able to begin building and certifying devices that work with Bluetooth 5, the first round of which are expected to begin rolling out in the next two to six months and will likely include major products by the end of the year.
The details of Bluetooth 5 largely haven’t changed since they were first announced earlier this year. When in its common low-energy format, Bluetooth connections will be able to reach twice the speeds and four times the distance of what they can today, according to Bluetooth SIG, the special interest group that oversees the standard.
BLUETOOTH 5 IS MEANT TO WORK BETTER ALONGSIDE OTHER IOT CONNECTIONS
The new spec is also supposed to make Bluetooth beacons — the small radios that let stores and stadiums push ads and other targeted info to your phones — work more efficiently. And it’s supposed to let Bluetooth’s wireless signal adapt on the fly to avoid Wi-Fi and LTE, steering clear of congested airwaves as a way to help all of a device’s wireless connections maintain their performance.
Chuck Sabin, Bluetooth SIG’s director of business strategy, says the goal of these improvements is to “increase the overall quality of the connections and the interoperability of these connections,” making Bluetooth a better option for the growing number of Internet of Things devices trying to fill up your home.
MESH NETWORKING IS COMING NEXT YEAR
One major IoT-focused upgrade that won’t be part of Bluetooth 5 is mesh networking — the ability for Bluetooth devices to act as hubs that help one another reach farther and farther distances. Mesh networking is in the works and is expected to arrive early next year, but it’s a separate technology that isn’t strictly a part of Bluetooth 5. It is, however, supposed to work with devices using both Bluetooth 4 and 5.
For the time being, Bluetooth devices will have to obtain longer ranges using the abilities afforded by the new standard. The changes aren’t expected to impact battery life, Sabin says. Though Bluetooth devices may drain more power by broadcasting over a longer range, he says, that should be made up for by their faster speeds, allowing radios to be on for shorter periods of time.
The upgrades may also help Bluetooth fend off Wi-Fi’s slow attempt to move in on its low-power turf. A new Wi-Fi standard called HaLow is supposed to offer a Wi-Fi alternative to what Bluetooth has always been great at — fitness trackers, sensors, and other small gadgets — but it’s not supposed to be ready for at least another year. And by then, if these coming rounds of upgrades work as promised, Bluetooth will already have addressed its biggest shortcomings: short range and slow speeds.
Facebook is planning big time to extend its live video streaming service to Android phones in the space of a week from now according to releases by the company.
With the arrangement in place, the Android rollout will be initiated with users in the US first, this will now go on to be expanded globally reaching to other countries including ours Nigeria here.
The Facebook Live feature, which gives users the capacity to broadcast live video via means of the company’s flagship mobile app, got its first launch on iOS in the US. Moving on to present day, its availability spans across over 30 countries, and Facebook reveals its intents to it plans to throw the door open on it to new markets “within the coming weeks.”
Live video has been understandably being a major emphasis for Facebook in months of late as it hopes to increase the expanse of its News Feed so as to encompass more real-time content.
By means of a post making public the Android rollout announcement, Facebook reveals the average time its users get to spend in the course of watching live video is three times in length of time compared to that when the video isn’t live. And then of those watching live content via Facebook Live, over 50 percent happens to be Android users.
You may be expending so much on your Wi-Fi subscription monthly. Unfortunately, you don’t get to use the Wi-Fi to surf the internet before it expires. This can be very excruciating. Alternatively, your Wi-Fi connection may be very slow. One of the contributing factors to this is that someone may be stealing your Wi-Fi. Therefore, the owner of the Wi-Fi Router have to act fast to stop this theft. The disadvantage of people having unauthorized access to your Wi-Fi is not only limited to your data alone but also your emails and other vital accounts can be hacked and vital information stolen. As usual, Jovago.com, Africa’s No 1 Hotel Booking Portal recommend tips on how to detect if someone is stealing your Wi-Fi.
Check the Router Indicator
If you suspect that someone is stealing your Wi-Fi, shut down or disconnect your own devices like laptops, desktop, phones and others. Afterwards, check the Wi-Fi’s indicator, it is meant to be off since you are not connected. However, if the indicator is still on after disconnection, this means that someone has unauthorized access to your Network. The shortcoming with this is that the person tapping the Wi-Fi maybe a significant other.
Log into your Wi-Fi account
The Internet Protocol address according to Wikipedia ‘is a numerical label assigned to each devices that are connected in a computer network.” The IP address allows these devices to access the router. However, if this process has been compromised, it may leave your connection vulnerable to unauthorized users. What will you do? Just copy your IP address (IP addresses are of two types IPv4 and IPv6. Samples, 172.16.254.1; IPv4 or 2001:db8:0:1234:0:567:8:1; IPv6) in your browser, enter your details in the available spaces and you can see all the known and unknown connections. You can disconnect all the illegal IP access. After, checking ensure that your information hasn’t been stolen.
Use a tracking software
Using a Wi-Fi tracking software is highly recommended because the software can alert you immediately your Wi-Fi is accessed without permission. This would prevent you from going through the stress of checking intermittently if someone is ‘stealing’ your Wi-Fi. Perhaps, this is safer. You can use moocher hunter software for the tracking.
Use Encryption code/Password
Perhaps, this is the safest and surest means of preventing your Wi-Fi from being stolen. You must use a strong and long password that can’t compromised and also a password you can remember. To ensure, a guaranteed Wi-Fi security, you can also use the Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) and Wi-Fi Protected Access II (WPA II). This would nearly assure 100% protection. The most important thing is that write the passwords somewhere if you know you can’t remember them. You can also include the passwords in a password manager.

2015 was a year of great technological advancement in medicine, agriculture, finance, construction and automobile sectors. With the milestones achieved by the world’s top research facilities 2016 promises to be the year that will bring all inhabitants of the earth closer to the future than we thought possible in the year 2000. For us at Carmudi Nigeria, we would like to share technological advancement in the automobile sector and what to look forward to in 2016.
If you come across a car driving around without a driver don’t be alarmed. Every bet is that it’s Google’s driverless car. This car has been tested on the roads and it has the entire important element such as headlights, steering and brakes. The car also has sensors and computers that can be fitted in normal SUVs such as Lexus. It is hoped that this new technology will reduce traffic jams and increase road safety especially in a populated city such as Lagos.
We seen people visiting places around the earth for recreation but come 2016 people will be able to visit out of space not for research but for fun. Yes that right. People will be able to spend time outside the earth’s atmosphere for a price.
Right now, you have to be a multi billionaire with about 20-30 million dollars to spare to take a one way trip and chill at the international space station or 200,000 dollars to take a suborbital spaceflight from virgin Galactic. With an increase of willing vacationers and lot of investors it is hoped that in 2016 the cost of space travel will become as low as 1 million dollars per passenger. http://matadornetwork.com/life/24-incredible-new-technologies-youll-see-by-2021/
Just like driver-driver communication, cars to car communication will become possible and in use starting 2016. This technology allows cars communicate with others around it using software such as Intel’s M2M (Machine-to-Machine).Cars will be able to share data with other cars on the roads. The technology can warn drivers of accidents, figure out alternative routes based on real time information cutting down traffic and increasing safety.
Your car will be able to talk with your bank! BMW has developed a key that functions as a credit card. In 2016 the technology will be available for testing and by 2020, your entire car might become one credit card. Skymeter calls it “Financial GPS.” “With Financial GPS, consumers can get one bill at the end of the month for every car-related cost: their parking, their insurance, their lease, their roads, even full repairs coverage,” said Kamal Hassan, Skymeter CEO, in a Mashable interview. This technology will allow your car automatically pay for parking and fueling of your car controlling the cost of the driver. If you are driving a car on lease, it would save you money on your lease, your insurance, and even your municipal tax bill when you decide not to drive.
Mind over matter or at least car will reach an advanced stage in 2016. Nankai University researchers have spent two years developing the mind-controlled car, which is powered by brain signals and by 2016 this technology might begin its real time trials. Wearing a brain signal-reading headset of sorts, drivers will be able to control their cars through their thought. They will be able to move the vehicle forward, backwards, unlock and lock it, and come to a full stop by only using their thoughts.
It is our hope that in the near future car lovers will be able to search for these cars on carmudi.com.ng!
If you want to be successful as a student, you need not limit yourself to your teachers teachings. You have to learn beyond your teachers’ horizon. Google is an essential tool that you would find useful to amass knowledge online from various sources for free.
As a matter of fact, everybody uses Google, but not everybody knows the trick to work with Google efficiently. I’ve come across some students that claim they don’t find the solution to an assignment on Google, but the problem is they don’t know how to use the Google Search efficiently. As a students or a lifelong learner, you need the tricks to be able to use Google efficiently to get the exact things you want, and save more time for other things.
A search engine works by matching the words you enter to pages on the web. So using words that are most likely to appear on pages will yield the best results. For example, instead of saying my head hurts, say headache, because that’s the term a medical website would use. Simple, one or two word search terms will usually give you the broadest results. Start with short search terms, then refine your results by adding more words.
Before you proceed, check: How to Use Google to Solve Simple & Complicated Mathematics
Be specific with your search terms. If you want to search for an exact phrase in an exact order, then put quotation marks around the words e.g. ‘just naira’. Note: searching with quotes might exclude relevant results. For instance, a search for “Alexander Bell” will miss pages that refer to Alexander G. Bell.
If you want to search within a specific site, you’ll need to precede your query with site: if you know you want your answer from within a specific site or type of site (.org, .edu). For example: site:edu or site:wikipedia.com.
Search for specific types of files, such as JPGs, PDFs, PPTs, or XLS, by adding filetype: and the 3-letter file abbreviation.
Use the related: operator to find pages that have similar content by typing related: followed by the website address. For instance, if you find a website you like, try using related:[insert URL] to locate similar websites.
Put define: in front of any word to get its definition.

How To Upload Photos to Instagram from any Device.
Instagram is a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your life with friends and family.
Take a picture or video, choose a filter to transform its look and feel, then post to Instagram — it’s that easy. You can even share to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and more. It’s a new way to see the world.
According to Pew Research Internet Project’s latest study, Instagram is now the fastest growing social network. Somehow Instagram has managed to find its balance between social sharing, and social interaction. Instagram is growing in both capabilities and popularity, and drawing more and more non-conventional users to it.
This makes it a great time to be marketing yourself. Here are some tools to enhance your experience on Instagram. With these tools, you can use the service from your computer as opposed to just from a smartphone; schedule your posts, and more.
Gramblr is a free program that allows you to plug in your Instagram account info and start uploading pictures immediately. You must have an Instagram account to upload photos using Gramblr. Your photos must be edited beforehand to Gramblr’s size requirement of 650 px by 650 px. You can then add a description and tags to the image. After Gramblr uploads your photo, it provides you with links to share the images. Gramblr is a simple working solution if you don’t mind editing your photo size beforehand or skipping out on Instagram’s filter options.
Steps to download and install Gramblr to start uploading photos to Instagram from your desktop computer:
The idea is pretty simple. You upload one or multiple images/videos from either the web or phone. You set a schedule so they are released as you want them to be. You can then get the images pushed to your phone, if you choose. You will get an alert just prior to scheduled posts publishing, so you can either change/erase the post, or verify it.
Because you have to authorize the publishing at the time it is scheduled, this is more a way of monitoring your posting calender than an autoposter. But for those who want more control, it is a great tool.
ScheduGram is for social media managers that need an easier way of managing Instagram for their clients and brands. Schedugram features web uploading, scheduling, and supports multiple accounts.
If you are looking for something super simple which schedules and auto-posts photos and videos, then lets you know? Then this one might be best for you. Upload via you browser, manage multiple accounts, and allow multiple administrators access. Once the scheduled posts have been published, you will get an email alert. So any time there is any problem, you will be notified instantly.
Best of all, it supports multiple upload of pictures. So you can put a bunch of photos or videos on at once, edit the information like the meta data, and then schedule them all at once. This is so much more efficient than doing it one by one.
Do you have another alternative? We’d love to hear from you! Let us know in the comment section below
