An unidentified boy went to extreme lengths and great pain to show how much he loves his girlfriend (who is still in junior secondary school).

According to reports, the young boy who did not have enough funds for a tattoo, went local by injuring himself all in the name of inscribing or “tattooing” the girl’s name (Shamsiya) on his hand.

The picture has gone viral online and has generated mixed feelings from users.

According to some users, they consider the act to be unwise as the young boy might have contracted disease in the process of inscribing the name on his hand.

It was not mentioned if the girlfriend also inscribed her lover’s name on her hand.

A Nigerian man based in South Africa reportedly bought a Mercedes-Benz G-class for a South African man for impregnating his wife.

He reportedly said…

“I know what I did is wrong but I feel better he has accepted my gift. He accepted that his wife, my girlfriend, is pregnant and will soon give birth to my son.

He was angry at first but when I presented the car to him his anger vanished,” said the man who identified herself as John.

One source close to the family of the woman who fell pregnant says she knew about the affair but never thought it would lead to a pregnancy. She says she is disappointed the husband accepted the Mercedes-Benz from the Nigerian national.

“Nigerian men will never take our men seriously. What kind of a man accepts a gift from a man who impregnated his wife? He will impregnate her again and buy the stupid husband another car. I am so disappointed,” she said.

When approached for a comment the husband said “it is wrong to say I am stupid. The point of the matter is we cannot reverse what happened.

We sat down as men and sorted the issue. The Bible says we must forgive and fordownload. I have always dreamed of driving a G-wagon. Christmas came early for me and my family,” said the husband who didn’t want to be named.

“The baby will be born and I’ll take care of him as my own. If the father wants to take him to Nigeria I wouldn’t mind. I will give my wife the support she needs always. That is what marriage is all about. I love my wife and will not leave her because of a mere pregnancy,” he added.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), Kwara command on Monday paraded one Ahmed Olalekan for parading himself as a medical doctor.

Olalekan who hails from lgbayeodo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State was arrested in Aboto, in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Parading the suspect, the NSCDC Commandant in Kwara, Mr Adeyinka Ayinla, said the suspect was arrested on October 19 for allegedly claiming to be a doctor.‎

He said the suspect was arrested when he was in the process of treating an unsuspecting patient who is a blind man.

The commandant said the suspect defrauded the victim to the tune of N290,000 and would soon be charged to court.

The Governing Council of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has appointed Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the 55 years old institution.This is contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar, Information Unit, Mr Toyin Adebule.

It said Prof Ogundipe emerged first and his appointment was confirmed Friday by the governing council.

Before his appointment, Prof. Ogundipe was UNILAG’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics and Research.

Adebule disclosed that in line with guidelines for the appointment of VC, three candidates, Prof Ogundipe, Prof Olukayode Amund, former Dean, Students Affairs and Prof Ayodeji Olukoju, former VC of Caleb Universty were nominated for final consideration by council.

The statement added that at the governing council meeting held on Friday, October 27, the council approved the appointment of Prof Ogundipe, who scored the highest mark during the selection interview as the new VC .

The new VC took over as DVC from Prof Babajide Alo on April 1, 2016.

He was appointed as Professor in 2002, was also the Director of Academic Planning and a member of many scientific organisations.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is now the richest person in the world for the second time.

On Friday morning, Amazon stock opened up more than 8% higher than Thursday’s close, adding nearly $7 billion to Bezos’ net worth. But thanks to a 7% spike in Microsoft’s stock overnight, it wasn’t quite enough to put him ahead of Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates on Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaire Rankings. Bezos had a net worth of $89.7 billion, as of the start of trading on Friday, while Gates had a net worth of $90.1 billion, up $550 million from yesterday. Then by 10:15 a.m. Eastern, Amazon stock had climbed nearly 2% since the market opened, adding $900 million to Bezos’ net worth and putting him in the No. 1 spot with a net worth of $90.6 billion versus Gates’ $90.1 billion at that time.

Amazon stock surged in after-hours trading on Thursday after the company reported strong third quarter earnings. Amazon reported $43.7 billion in revenue, well above the $42.1 billion analysts expected. Whole Foods, which Amazon acquired in August, made up $1.3 billion of total revenue for the quarter.

Bezos became the richest person in the world for the first time three months ago as Amazon stock hit an all-time high on July 27, just before Amazon reported its second quarter earnings. But Bezos’ first time at the top of Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List only lasted a few hours. That same day, Amazon reported a big miss on earnings in its second quarter, leading to a drop in the e-commerce giant’s stock. Only today has Amazon stock returned close to its previous high, as the stock market responded positively to Amazon’s third quarter results.

When Forbes published The FORBES 400 list of richest Americans earlier in October, Bezos was the second richest person in America, worth $7.5 billion less than Gates. Bezos first joined the Forbes 400 in 1998, one year after Amazon went public, with a net worth of $1.6 billion.

Update: Bezos ended the day as the richest person in the world with a $93.1 billion fortune, up $10.3 billion from Thursday. He is currently $3.1 billion richer than Gates, who ended the day with a net worth of $90 billion.
